Risopix - risographic works on paper

I discovered risography through a tiny article in PAGE. A small printing workshop had opened in Berlin and overhauled two risographs. A printing process based on soy inks. Developed 40 years ago. Originating from Japan - completely new territory for me. I quickly researched how it works and who makes it - and my passion for this medium was ignited.

Almost endless possibilities opened up before me. Great! Work on paper at affordable prices. Perfect for small print runs. The ideal way to convert digital templates into a haptic, analogue, tangible medium. MAC meets Gutenberg. Pixels on ink printing - sustainable and without chemicals. Beautiful matt, coated paper and rich colors. Soy-based screen printing with rice paper matrices. Where has this technology been hiding from me for so long? Wow - the ideas are running amok. Czyk can't print as fast as I can think of motifs to implement.

I chose “Drucken3000” in Berlin to produce the risographs. Alexander Branczyk (Czyk) supported me with lots of advice and tips during my first attempts at the new medium. The quality of the paper and prints is excellent. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them very much for their support.

The first 50 copies of this “Cahier” come with an original risograph in A5 format, numbered and hand-signed.
